2016 Felt Bicycles F3

Get used to the view at the front of the pack, because Felt's F3 will ensure you spend a lot of time there. Its ultra-high modulus carbon frame is expertly crafted using unique tubing shapes to optimize road feel, comfort, and handling, so every ride is fantastic. Up front, Felt's tapered monocoque-carbon fork smooths the road and slices corners with precision. The frameset is not the only high-tech component of this wonder bike, though—its Shimano Ultegra drivetrain effortlessly and precisely clicks through 22 gears. Other components have been carefully chosen to maximize speed and efficiency, including 3T's lightweight handlebars, stem, and seat post, as well as Shimano's fast rolling RS11 wheels and a sleek, supportive Prologo saddle.

    Comments:

I purchased the 2015 Felt F3. I began my search with the Giant Defy Advanced series. After sometime researching road bikes, I decided to broaden my search to brands other than Giant. I looked at the Felt F-series. From that point on I was sold. The frame's construction is made from Textreme carbon fiber. Felt is the only bike manufacturer that uses Textreme technologies. Moreover, the bike is lighter and stiffer than some of its competitors. It is fun to ride and the shifting is crisp and precise. I couldn't have asked for a better bike. The price point seems steep, but Textreme carbon, Ultegra components, 3T bars, stem, and seatpost one cannot find a better deal under $3000. The only down fall to the bike is the heavier set of wheels, but they are great for training. In the long run it would be prudent to invest in a set of race wheels.

    Comments:

A well rounded machine. I own the 2011 F3 LTD. The main difference between the two is the forks and groupset. The frame is stiff during sprints and climbs but extremely compliant over rough roads, it make it so easy to pedal efficiently when things get ugly! The geometry is for those who want to be able to get as low as possible with very short head tubes. The bike handles fast corners well, its a point and shoot kinda ride. I would recommend this machine to those who like an aggressive geometry and a great all around bike.

I own a F5 and this carbon frame and componets are so much better. Bike is more responsive and shifting is smooth and quick.

Great Value. Upgrade the crank and wheels and you have a bike you can race all season. The F3 accelerates with snap, is a willing climber, and predictable in the twisty stuff.

          Comments:

Great for climbing, sprinting, open road riding. I can truly tell a difference in each of these "arenas", especially on climbs - the power transfer is great. Great component set and light frame. Total bike is only 17 lbs and is upgradeable in terms of wheelset, saddle, etc. Can easily be modified to enter the ultra-light arena of around 14 pounds.
